Sunny raised a hand and tried to suppress a smile.

"Does this mean we're married?"
-----------------
"That's what I meant. We should get going," Mab said. She just hoped that things would be less awkward from now on, though she had a feeling it might get worst. "But um...are we together now?"
-----------------
"I know she will be strong. She will be a better High Priestess than me." Chris squeezed Rhys's hand than smiled and let go.

"I'm sorry to be depressing you. My death won't be for some time, so please don't treat me any differently than you have. I will not die around you."

Maul

Maul stopped walking once he faintly heard what Sunny had asked. Something akin to a blush crossed his face as he tried to think of a neutral answer to that cautious and somewhat dangerous query. Finally he just decided to let Savina answer that, and replied to what she had said.

"Yes. He is getting more confident and comfortable around us everyday. And...truthfully I would not mind giving Bakar a younger sibling. But I...doubt I will find a woman willing to one day wed me."

Syrien

"Good. Where shall we begin, then?"

C.C.

"Haha, very funny. Just because of that I promise to now stalk you when you take Nell out on a date, after we get settled in." C.C. replied with another smirk.

Rein

"Katie. Susanna's younger cousin. We're around the same age. Katie and I...we became good friends while you were gone. Best friends, even. We talked about...everything. She was a real good help, comforting me and helping me take care of Atiya when she was first born. I...I had to leave her behind with C.C. when we left the palace. I didn't even get the chance to say goodbye to her. I....really wish she could be at our wedding. She'd love that." Rein sniffled and started to tear up a little as she realized just how much she missed the girl. She had hardly given any thought to her best friend up till now, admittedly. Rein supposed that being reunited with Kegan had pushed the thought of Katie out of her mind.

Though now she had time to think about it Rein really did miss her best friend, so badly. It was...words couldn't describe how wonderful it was to have Kegan back. But...Rein really would have liked to have had her best friend along with her, too. Kegan was nice to talk to, but really Rein did have a better time talking to Katie, most often, then she did with Kegan. Not that talking with Kegan wasn't bad or anything. It just...wasn't entirely the same. And it was so terrible that Katie wouldn't be able to be at their wedding. Rein had...hoped when that day arrived, Katie could have been her bridesmaid. A foolish thought, but still...

PostSubject: Re: Succession: Rebellion   Succession: Rebellion - Page 37 I_icon_minitimeThu Dec 30, 2010 6:18 am

(Well, Ana and Nebi are two of the only young people that Kegan and Rein know. They'll need to have standins for the wedding party during the ceremony. It just might be time for everyone to pull out their favorite uncomfortable articles of clothing. Even if tuxes probably do not exist. Very Happy )
Brighe

Brighe sighed as she thought over Syrien's question, quickly forming a list in her mind as she went over everything that needed to be done. "We need to commandeer the cafeteria for the next two days. Using the incentive of free food and the threat of Hazuki should be enough to force all the rebels in there into working for us for the next two days," she pointed out while staring at the ground, glancing up at Syrien every few seconds to see how he felt about the her ideas. "Next we need to find people that Kegan and Rein both know to throw into the wedding party, make sure it's an even number and we'll be alright," Brighe pointed out as she began to tap her foot. "Getting food should be easy, we'll just use what the kitchen already has. Getting a clothes for everyone will be the hard part, especially finding a dress for Rein, considering how her measurements, are a bit different right now," Brighe admitted with a tired expression as she looked back up at Syrien to confirm that this would be his job.

"I need to get some of Kegan and Rein's hair ... Don't ask, but since I'm cutting it anyways, I might as well make them both look a bit more suitable for tomorrow. Then I'll need to find a Smithee and all should be good," Brighe finished as she clasped her hands together and straightened up.

Brighe scanned the halls as she remembered another issue, ".... Where are Atiya and Alain though?" The Elf asked as she realized she hadn't seen the children all day.
------------------------------------------
Katie

"Fine, just don't write anything this time," katie ordered, both teasing and yet, slightly serious as well.
-------------------------------------------
Rhys

Rhys attempted to smile in reassurance at Chris as the Priestess squeezed his hand, not entirely comfortable with the physical intimacy but hoping that his friend felt reassured by it.

"If I would be there at the time, I would have done whatever I could to prevent your death from happening," Rhys promised before giving a tired smile in comfort. It was odd, feeling defeated after only a prophecy had been given, but Rhys did not question it, did not question Chris.
----------------------------------------------
Savina

Savina blushed slightly as she glanced back at Sunny, quickly walking away with Maul so she could be alone with the Kaleesh. As they neared the edge of camp, Savina finally spoke up to quell Maul's painful fears.

"Do not act like you aren't lovable because of your appearance, Maul. Y-you do yourself and those that care about you a disservice by saying things like that," Savina reassured as she looked off into the distance to make sure no one else was around. She had heard the rumors about a Kaleesh' stare. Apparently Maul himself had driven a woman mad during the competition for succession just by forcing her to stare into his eyes. Savina wasn't sure if that was true, dramatic as it sounded.

"When I see you smile, when I see the love that you feel for Bakar," Savina spoke slowly as she positioned herself in front of Maul, "I ... I don't feel disgusted by your face, I just see the love that you feel, the happiness you possess, the person within you that cares," Savina reassured as she took the Kaleesh' hand and looked at Maul's lips, still slightly frightened by what she was about to attempt. "Your appearance does not matter," she pointed out as thoughts of Sunny through her mind for a quick second, "and even if it did, it is not something that's going to ward me off," Savina whispered as she looked up into Maul's eyes and stared. She had to prove her point.
-------------------------------------------------
Carlisle

"I ... I hope so," Carlisle replied before attempting to flash a smile at Mab. It was somewhat awkward, but endearing awkwardness was the trait that seemed to define Mab and Carlisle's interactions with each other, so it was a fitting moment.

"But, you are correct, we do need to be on our way now," he added hastily afterward.
--------------------------------------------------
Kegan

"I see ...." Kegan said as his brow furrowed, somewhat disappointed that someone so apparently important in Rein's life had not been mentioned to him prior to this point.

"Is there someway you could get in contact with her or something? So you can tell her about the wedding?" he asked, trying to be helpful.

Sunny looked at Savina and Maul and sighed. She felt a pang of jealousy and quickly looked away. Maul would never like her.

'Not that I like him, of course.' But Sunny only half believed that statement. A part of her wished she stayed back at the Palace. At least she there she would know what to do. She wouldn't have to think about this.
--------------
"Well then lead the way," Mab said, starting to relax. She felt happy as well.
--------------
"In return, is there something I can do for you Rhys," Chris asked. She had a feeling Rhys might decline the offer, but she wanted to ask anyways. She was a selfless person and after what she asked, she felt it necessary for Rhys to ask something in return.

((I approve of that idea Alec! Hehehe. I really do wish to see Ana in some stuffy bridesmaid dress. Especially if it makes her look hideious. Hehehe.))

Syrien

"Very well. It all sounds acceptable to me. I believe that Dwarf Nebi was fond of is here as a rebel now, and I think he was a forger of some sort. He could be useable. And I have a dress in mind that I could adjust to fit Rein's form. And...that is a very good question. Considering the state I found our charges in when I went to inform them of the news....the toddlers are likely still under the care of the Assassin." Syrien said, a displeased look crossing his face. Those two really needed to keep better care of Atiya. And Alain, too, if Rein still planned on adopting the boy. Leaving them both with Ana, even while they were free to pick them up, wasn't the best parental decision Rein and Kegan could have made.

Maul

"I...see." Maul stared back at her, though no ill affects came ot Savina because of it. Truthfully he did appreciate what she was saying. Not...many people had said things like that to him. Only his Master and...She had said that and things of similar effect, when they were both alive. "Though that wasn't entirely what I meant. I am a killer. All Order agents are. It is an undeniable fact. Even if we murder for the Greater Good of Gaboria, it does not change the fact that I have killed hundreds over the span of my life. I...even had to resort to killing my own mentor. And...a trained assassin would not make the best father or husband."

Rein

"Y-Yeah. There could be a way. I could...do that." Rein's smile slowly came back as she considered the idea. "Yeah! That would work. I could even have Syrien help me. It...wouldn't be as good as having her here, but writing a letter to Katie....that would be great!"

Rein beamed at her fiance and gave him another fierce and loving hug. "Thank you so much, Kegan! You always know how to make me happy. And sorry for not mentioning Katie before. Being with you again she...just slipped from my mind. And besides, I shouldn't be so sad. Tomorrow is a very special day for us. Our special day. The day where I finally become....Mrs. Rein Ekaitz."

Rein giggled slightly to herself after saying that, then resumed hugging Kegan again.

C.C.

"Oh, alright. I promise not to make a porn novel about your next date with Nell." C.C. crossed her heart for effect, and her expression was semi-serious. After a few seconds it slowly twisted into another grin, of course. "But you never said anything about...me having fun while stalking you. Remember all the embarrassing things I told you that happened to Rein and Kegan in the forest? I think an encore performance is needed, now. I think you'll love a live demonstration of what happened."

Savina

"Oh, is that all?" Savina asked as she stepped back, relieved that Maul's problems weren't over his physical appearance. For a second she thought she might have to call Sunny out to help the Kaleesh with his problems. Admittedly, it could have been nice, but still. Self-loathing over one's training and mission in life was something she felt more comfortable with comforting Maul over.

"I mean, not that your fears aren't merited ... I don't mean to sound so dismissive," Savina quickly apologized as she realized she was getting lost in her thoughts. "You were raised to kill, just like almost any other soldier here. and...," she pointed out before crossing her arms, getting frustrated with herself and Maul.

"There's no time to be dwelling on the past anyways Maul, and doing so is just selfish anyways," Savina stated as she changed tactics. "You are a lovable person Maul, I wish you could just take my word for it. And even if you can't, at least believe Sunny and Bakar when they tell you so," she added passionately as she began to use her hands to emphasize what she was saying. "It's no longer about justt you because you aren't alone anymore; and, you don't get to have your own self pitying party of introspection, and you especially do not get to act like the people who care about you are wrong for doing so. Yes, I know that's not what you meant, but that's what your words imply and it's not fair!" Savina shouted before looking down at the ground for a second.
---------------------------------------
Carlisle

"Well then, lets be off," Carlisle replied before smiling genuinely at Mab.

(Time for a time-skip for Carlisle and Mab. First a few month long one so they're in Spring instead of winter, then another one afterward so they're caught up with everyone else. Sound good Toko?)
-----------------------------------------
Kegan

Kegan patted Rein's back as she hugged him for what must have been the ninth time in the past twenty minutes. It was nice, to see her be so happy, even if a lot seemed to be going on around them right now. "I suppose we should get dressed first ...," The Half-Elf pointed out to his fiance.
------------------------------------------
Brighe

"I'll make sure she gets her money, and I can find Gilkas on my own. Lets just try and get everything done before tomorrow," Brighe said with a sigh as she resisted getting angry once again. "If you see Gilkas, can you tell him to find me? I'll find Atiya, Alain, and Ana before getting started," Brighe gave in.
------------------------------------------
Katie

"You really don't have to do that," Katie reassured with a straight face, her heart beginning to beat faster.
-------------------------------------------
Rhys

Rhys looked at Chris for a few seconds, a thousand thoughts and potential requests rushing through the Captain's mind. And yet, none of them sounded right in the end.

"I do not need any favors done Chris, thank you," he replied calmly while rubbing his forehead nervously.

C.C.

"Oh? You're sure? It'd be no trouble at all. I could even improvise a few things. I could make Nell's clothes invisibile again only to you, like I did that one time." C.C. gave her ward a mischevious grin at that idea. Ooh, that would be so fun to do! It was unlikely it'd ever occur, but the Mage did love teasing Katie. Just the thought of it would likely embarrass her.

Syrien

"Very well. I shall do so. Though I am curious about something, Brighe. If you would not mind my asking." Syrien inquired.

Maul

Maul blinked, momentarily surprised by what Savina had said. His lips cracked into a genuine smile, however, after he thought her little speech over.

"I had not thought of that. It is an interesting interpretation of what I said. But...I do find your words do speak truth. Indeed, it would not do for me to angst over what I am. I should accept what I am, and then move on, no? Heh. I haven't heard advice like that since I was training under my Master. I ignored her then, though. Perhaps...I should listen to it, this time, however."

Rein

"O-Oh. Right." Rein blushed a little as she let go of Kegan. She fiddled with her fingers a bit as she continued. "I, uh, had hoped we could...celebrate the n-news in our own way but...I guess we don't have time for that, do we? Nor should we really take the risk..."

Katie

"You're proving my point about people with power, C.C.," Katie stated as her cheeks red. The girl glanced towards Nell a couple of time, not wanting it to be obvious that they were talking about him but also hoping he hadn't heard a word that C.C. had just said.

"I just want ... I need a normal date with him, just tonight. You can play whatever jokes you want next time, but I really want tonight to be perfect," Katie pleaded with her friend.
-----------------------------
Kegan

Kegan shrugged and smiled in reply before quickly kissing Rein again.

"Tomorrow," He promised before grabbing a shirt. "But I'm sure Brighe would kill us if we forced them to do all the work, watch Atiya and Alain, and embarrassed them all in one day," The merry Half-Elf explained.
-------------------------------
Brighe

Brighe stopped in place, wanting to run down the hall and get started with what would be a very long night. But the Elf looked back at Syrien instead, a perplexed look on her face as she asked, "Yes?"
---------------------------------
Savina

Savina bit her lip as she allowed Maul to reply, though she was slightly surprised that it had worked and that he was now smiling. Still, don't question a gift, the Soldier thought as she smiled in return and allowed her teeth to show.

"Well I'd hope so ... I didn't say it all for nothing, you know," Savina stated lightheartedly before placing a hand on Maul's shoulder. "We should get going now," she pointed out.

Maul

"Very well. Shall we first answer Sunny's question, then?" Maul asked, giving a bit of a chuckle. His heart beat a little faster, though, when he felt Savina's hand on his shoulder. Hm. It was rather...tempting to come clean with her, and reveal his true feelings to her. But...truth be told Maul was rather afraid to do that. His first and, before now, only crush had not ended well at all. He was rather afraid that history might repeat itself, in some way or form. And not to mention how Savina might react.

Syrien

"You seemed a little--agitated, perhaps?--off when the subject of going home and your father came up. May I inquire as to why, Brighe?"

C.C.

"Oh alright, fine. I promise not to stalk you or mess with you. Cross my heart and hope to be killed a thousand times over." C.C. gave Katie a friendly smile and lightly patted her shoulder. "I promise not to interfere in any way. You can have your date with Nell unmolested."

Well, there went her fun for the night. Ah well. At least it'd be fun to spy on her and Nell, using a magic mirror or something, while they were out. Then she'd have great teasing material for later.

Rein

"Right." Rein smiled and slipped out of bed, bending down to retrieve her scattered clothes. Once she had collected them all she started to put them on, starting with her shirt. "I can't wait for our wedding night. I don't know why, but it'll just feel so...special. More...better than normal."

Rein giggled again at that thought, though swiftly resumed dressing.

Katie

Katie giggled quickly and hugged her friend, both surprised and thrilled that she could now look forward to tonight without having to be worried about anything. "Thank you, C.C." Katie whispered with a grin.
---------------------------
Kegan

Kegan smirked to himself, not sure if he agreed with Rein. Then again, she might be right, the Half-Elf thought to himself before giving a shrug.

"Yeah, it should be nice," He muttered in agreement before standing up off the bed, fully clothed. "Is there anything we need to do ourselves?" Kegan asked questioningly, not wanting to be in a situation where they were making things hard for Brighe and Syrien.
----------------------------
Savina

"You can, I'll be helping Bakar pack up," Savina replied somewhat teasingly before releasing Maul. "I'll talk to you later," she stated before walking away, a smile still on her face as she walked back into camp.
-----------------------------
Brighe

Brighe's body tensed up as Syrien spoke, The Elf wanted to run as quickly as possible, away from Syrien, away from the rebel base, away the mission she would have to go on in a weeks time. She could scream, say many bitter things if she felt like it, Brighe knew as she began to get frustrated with herself. She could change the subject off of herself, ask Syrien why he had never given a decent explanation for how he had gotten away from Tsuba and her control, she could bring up his family. Anything to avoid giving the answers. But she wouldn't do that, not to Syrien. With that realization, Brighe loosened up and sighed loudly before putting on a warmly and softly constructed smile.

"I just haven't talked to them in so long. You, Rein, Atiya, and Kegan are my family, not them. I just don't think they'd like that, you know how Elves can be," Brighe said as she brushed her hair back once again. It wasn't a complete lie, but enough of it was false for Brighe to immediately regret saying it. "We don't really have time to discuss issues like that anyways Syrien, there's a lot of work to be done," Brighe pointed out as she took a step back from the other Elf.

Rein

"I...don't know. I guess we need to ask Brighe and Syrien what we'll need to do for our wedding." Rein shrugged herself as she tossed the matter over in her mind. "Are there any Elven traditions about weddings I should know about?"

C.C.

"You're welcome, Katie." C.C. smiled at her and kissed her friend on the cheek. "Now, let's get unpacked and get you ready for that big date of yours. Tonight's the big night for you two, eh?"

Syrien

"True. And whatever unresolved issues you have, with your father, that you are not telling me...I do hope you can work your way through them. I do care for you, Brighe. Perhaps...more than either of us realize. I would hate to see you get hurt, emotionally or physically, during our stay there." Syrien said.

Kegan

Kegan bit his cheek as he thought over all the possible traditions Brighe would force upon them. He knew his Aunt would avoid whatever she felt was a waste of time, but there would still be some classic traditions brought in, for sure.

"Umm, we're gonna end up having to cut some of our hair. Not in front of anyone or during the ceremony or anything, but yeah. There might also be a point where Brighe and Syrien, being our two only elven companions, each give us a token in private that we're meant to give each other during the actual ceremony. I'm not sure what else might happen. I've never really paid much attention during family weddings," Kegan admitted, not all that worried about the ceremony itself.
--------------------------------
Katie

"Umm ... maybe," Katie responded before cracking a smile.
--------------------------------
Brighe

Brighe turned around and walked away, not dignifying Syrien with a response as she clutched her hands together. The young woman resisted crying, resisted making any noise at all as she walked down the hall alone. Embarrassing things always happened to people who made embarrassing displays of emotion in public, Brighe knew just by studying her Nephew and his associates. She would not be one of those people.

She couldn't ... There wasn't time to, she told herself. Nevertheless, whether or not Brighe willed it or not, the Elf started to cry. So she quickly opened a door to her right and walked into an empty storage space. It would do for now, Brighe realized as she sat on a shelf and tried to calm herself down.

Maul

"Very well." Maul gave Savina a wave goodbye before glancing over at Sunny. After composing himself he strided over toward her.

"I...suppose you want an answer to that question you asked, yes?" Maul asked, smirking slightly.

Rein

"Ok. Why...would we have to cut our hair?"

C.C.

"Ooh! Really, now! Then let's get to our room!" C.C. gave a huge smile and, with a snap of her fingers, teleported Katie, herself, and their luggage into their assigned room.

"We have much to talk about, Katie, if you plan to seal the deal with Nell tonight..."

(Sounds good to me Alec)

"If you don't mind, then may I ask a question," Chris said. There was something that Chris wanted to know. Her Sight didn't tell her everything after all.
-----------
Sunny looked up at Maul and felt herself get a little warm in the face. She thought about her question and felt herself start to blush deeper. But she tried to remain nonchalant. No need for Maul to know she liked him.

"If you have an answer, then yes."
------------
Nell stopped and looked through a window. It was a Butcher's shop and the smell of raw meat was kind of strong. Nell knew that there were two kinds of Inus. The domestic ones that acted more like house dogs and the more wild ones that acted well...wild. Nell had always hoped he leaned towards the dolice kind. He didn't want to go into a rage and hurt anyone.

Nell turned away, trying hard to fight his nose and impulses.

(Cool.)
Carlisle

Carlisle quickly put out the flames in the fire pit, and smiled to himself as he mentally noted that Mab and he were done cleaning up camp. The flames fizzled out quickly, allowing a small amount of smoke to rise up and dissipate in the air. It was actually rather warm out, the sun shining onto the riverbank, causing it to glitter and sheen as it traveled southward slowly. Birds could be heard chirping everywhere around the forest, which created a pleasant ambiance, Carlisle thought as he pulled on his cloak, allowing the hood to cover his head.

"That should do it," The Doctor muttered to himself before glancing towards Mab to make sure she was prepared to leave as well. They had been traveling for five months, and they had both been together for seven weeks time now. They both hadn't taken any major steps yet, but Carlisle enjoyed being with Mab. It was pleasant, and to be honest it just felt right when they were together, even in silence.

The pair had left the Lymark province six weeks ago, and they had finished traveling through the Heiln mountain passes three weeks ago. There had been quite a bit of snow still in the passes, but Carlisle and Mab had kept together for warmth and made their way through without losing any of their supplies. Luckily, the snow was melting quickly, and a small stream that trickled out of the mountains was now a swift river. It had taken Carlisle three days time, but the Doctor had constructed a large wooden raft that he and Mab now rode on each day, docking on the shore each night to find some food and rest before waking up for another day of rafting. Carlisle was not sure just how much progress they had made so far, but the Doctor was certain that they were at least five hundred kilometers further south since they had exited the mountain pass. It would be a few more weeks until they arrived at Bree, but their rate of travel did exhilarate Carlisle, especially considering that they had not yet seen any other travelers for months.

One might think that being so isolated would cause Carlisle to be lonely. But he didn't mind being alone with Mab.
---------------------------------------
Katie

"You already gave me the talk C.C.! You gave me every single talk you could think of, I am prepared," Katie reassured loudly as she eyed the door, wondering if she might be able to escape quickly and painlessly if she tried.
----------------------------------------
Rhys

Rhys sat up straight as Chris changed the subject suddenly. The Captain pondered what she might have to ask, but knew that the only way to find out would be to consent to her request.

"Of course you may," he answered, somewhat skeptically.
------------------------------------------
Kegan

Kegan rubbed his forehead as he processed the easiest way to explain the complex situation to someone who hadn't grown up seeing the ceremony often. "It's supposed to contain some of our magical essence, it counts as a quick representation of our soul. Some of the tribes prefer to use blood, because it's stronger, but Brighe definitely wouldn't be comfortable with that sort of thing," Kegan simplified, not quite understanding everything he was saying himself.

"Basically, she'll spend a few hours on spells and whatnot with the stuff, pray to the patron spirits of her- our, people, and then melt it down into a jewelry of sorts. What kind, is up to Aunt Brighe," Kegan added as he settled down. "It's very weird," he finished.

Rein

"O...k. That sounds a bit...weird. Though it's definitely not as strange as some Humage wedding rituals." Rein mused to herself, remembering some of the things she had read in the various books Syrien had provided for her about her people. She again mused aloud, not really thinking about what she was saying.

"I mean, at least Elves don't have nude weddings..."

C.C.

"Oh come now Katie, don't over-react so much. I had a bit more...serious discussion in mind, actually. Not entirely serious, of course, but still." C.C. admitted. She stared into Katie's eyes for a moment before nodding to herself.

"You're...sure that you're emotionally ready for this? Mating with Nell, if you do so this night?"

Maull

"Since Bakar considers myself a Father figure, and you and Savina mother figures, then yes, it could be said that we're "married" in a way. Though I highly doubt a three person marriage is...normal.." Maul said, chuckling slightly.

((For some reason I now have the Two Ladies song from Cabaret stuck in my head while I typed Maul's answer. I do not know why, but it does seem....oddly appropriate.))

Kegan

Kegan's eyebrows jumped up in shock at the idea of a nude wedding between he and Rein. "... Yeah, that's not going to happen," Kegan agreed as he tried not to think about all the people involved with the wedding being naked.
-----------------------------
Katie

"Well it's not really mating if you have no intention of having a child, right?" Katie asked somewhat jokingly as she tried not to make the situation seem so serious. But her attempts failed, Katie knew as she looked at C.C.'s expression.

So Katie sighed before responding seriously, "Yes, yes I am ready. I've been with him for months now, we've gone out on six dates already ... I should be ready by now," Katie pointed out somewhat halfheartedly as she looked at C.C., wanting some actual advice even if she would never tell C.C. that.

Rein

"I know, I know! I was just thinking aloud." Rein quickly said with a blush. "Besides, I um...probably wouldn't be able to keep my hands off of....Little Kegan if we had to do that."

Rein cleared her throat as she tried to move past that embarrassing statement. "Not to mention that those are rare nowadays, and only happen in all Humage communities. I think the ritual itself was something used by Mage royalty back when they were around. I'm not sure how it ended up being used as a normal wedding ritual in some conservative Humage communities."

"And, um, I'm sure that Syrien wouldn't want to force that on us. I'm sure he wouldn't want to do that aspect of a Humage wedding, period. It'd be too....uncomfortable for so many reasons. I'm sure he'll just have a normal Gaborian wedding planned, alongside the Elven rituals Brighe does." Rein added.

C.C.

"I'm sure you're ready. I just wanted to make sure about your readiness. I know I'm a big pervert and all, I won't deny it, and at this point in my immortal life I do not treat romantic relationships seriously. At least until I start dating Nebi again. Anyway, even I know that sex is a big step in any romantic relationship, Katie. I just want to make sure you know that, and are ready for it." C.C. replied, smiling lightly at her younger sister of sorts.

Kegan

"I think you could resist just fine," Kegan stated somewhat nervously as he looked at Rein, before realising that he was dwelling on a completely different and yet just as creepy aspect as Rein was. "The thing is ... Atiya would be there," He pointed out awkwardly before allowing silence to set in.
---------------------------
Katie

"I- i think I'm ready for it," Katie said weakly as she leaned against the oak door. "I mean, I should be ready to have sex with Nell," She stated to herself, though the words did not reassure her completely. Katie wasn't sure why she felt so hesitant about this. She enjoyed spending time with Nell, he was a great friend, and he was kind of cute as well. But when Katie looked at Nell, she didn't feel ... that, the girl supposed. Or maybe she did and she just didn't recognize it? Perhaps she hadn't recovered from ... what exactly? She wasn't sure what her problem was, why was she so frightened, Katie wondered as she slowly sunk onto the weaved rug that was draped from wall to wall across the floor.

Katie bit her lip as she got lost in her thoughts, an uncommon occurrence for the young girl, especially with C.C. just a few feet away. A sparrow chirped as it landed on the window sill of Katie and C.C.'s room, grabbing the young woman's attention as she jumped up. It took a few seconds for Katie to place what she had been talking about with C.C., but after she remembered, Katie quickly smiled in reassurance before once again saying, "I'm ready, C.C. . I'm just a bit nervous, which is probably quite common, after all," she pointed out while waving her hand to dismiss the notion that something was wrong.
---------------------------
Brighe/Anselm

The halls were bare as Anselm quietly walked down them, having only the sound of his own creaky footsteps for company as he tried to make sense of the roughly drawn map he had been given by a drunk rebel in the food hall, before young Nebi had comandeered it to drink and make friends with the rebel recruits.

Anselm was looking for Rein, whom he hadn't seen since they had arrived at this underground tunnel system of a rebel base a week ago. It was both a comfort and more fuel for paranoia, depending on who you were, Anselm supposed. The man no longer felt like someone was listening in on everything he said, or watching everything he did. But Anselm also wondered if that meant someone could try and kill him at any time, would that person get away with it? Anselm wasn't sure, but he didn't want to stay in one place for too long and risk someone else finding out.

Perhaps he should have stayed in the sleeping halls? But no, then Anselm would never be able to find Rein, and he had to find out if the quickly spreading rumors about her marriage to the former Heir Kegan were true, if the rumor that there would be a wedding tomorrow and that Hazuki had invited all the Rebels to attend the ceremony as a means of cheering up everyone were true as well.

"Would Rein want me in the ceremony?" Anselm wondered aloud to himself as he began to slow down. "I mean, she must have forgiven me by now, after all, I did help save her and her family after all," He reassured himself, not hearing the soft foot steps of someone lurking behind him. Not realizing that he was being majorly judged and mentally laughed at for being a fool. "Maybe she wants me to walk her down the aisle ...?" Anselm wondered aloud, only to be cut off as he heard a quietly bitter laugh. It sounded elven, there being a mystical bell like quality to the sound; and, though he spun around quickly as he could, Anselm saw nothing as he looked around the halls back and forth.

"What a fool," Brighe muttered a few hundred yards away as stopped running after turning a corner. The Elf's eyes were still red and a bit puffy as well, but Brighe was now sure that there was no more risk of her crying in front anyone. It was easy to hide her fears behind disdain for the fools that seemed to be everywhere around her, Brighe noted as she passed another pair of soldiers, both of whom stopped talking and simply glanced at her nervously as she walked past them. They started whispering quickly once again after they were sure Brighe wouldn't hear them, but they had nothing of note to say.

C.C.

"Alright..." C.C. gave Katie another concerned look and again looked into her eyes for several uninterrupted seconds. Finally the Mage broke contact and gave another slight nod to herself.

"If you're ready, then I'm sure you're ready, Katie. Now...you're...prepared for the act? You know the correct spells to prevent pregnancy? While I wouldn't mind a grandchild, you are a bit young to be a mother." C.C. gave Katie one of her trademark grins, signalling that the time for serious talk was now over.

Rein

"I know, I know! It's never going to happen, Kegan, I promise. Besides, from what I read, children below a certain age aren't allowed at Humage nude weddings. And I...consider my body to be a very p-private thing. Only you and Syrien have ever seen me naked. I'd...rather keep it that way." Rein admitted, blushing slightly. At that thought, she remembered how nervous she'd been the night of her first time with Kegan. Undressing had been a mortifying process that night, regardless of the fact Kegan had seen her naked earlier that day, two years ago. But at least it had turned out all right in the end.

Syrien

"Ah, Anselm. Just the Humage I wished to converse with." Syrien strode over to Anselm from an adjoining hallway, and gave him a brief nod. "We have much to discuss."

Katie

Katie smiled a somewhat tired grin, grateful that C.C. knew her and cared about her well enough to know not to push certain things. Yes, Katie knew she owed her friend honesty, but she didn't want to dwell on depressing thoughts tonight. Not when they were in such a magical place. Not when there was still so much left to do today.

"Well actually, I found a decent spell a few months ago," Katie confessed as she put herself against the door in a more comfortable position, grunting as she stuck her legs out. "... essentially, as long as I don't use the counterspell, I am barren," she admitted with a self-satisfied smirk as she remembered how lucky she was to find such a book in the library of Faron. It was surprising to find such an informative piece of literature, especially in a place so close to Mylintor, but it had come in handy since Katie had "Borrowed" the book. It was probably overdue by now, though Katie wasn't really thinking about that at the moment.
---------------------------------
Kegan

Kegan smiled at Rein, trying to seem understanding instead of amused and somewhat frightened by the idea of a Humage tradition based wedding.

He bit his lip and took note, making sure everything in the room was suitable for childrens eyes before he looked back at Rein and quietly stated, "Speaking of, we should probably hurry up and find Atiya before someone decides to teach her a few tricks or topics she shouldn't know yet," he pointed out, trying to sound like the responsible parent he was not.
-----------------------------------
Anselm

Anselm jumped back as he heard Syrien's voice, got off guard despite the fact the Elf had not been sneaking up on him. Anselm recognized Syrien as Rein's guardian, her adoptive Father. The Humage's neck hair stood up, though he was not sure why, when he heard Syrien's statement.

"Umm yes, yeah," Anselm replied, not sure what Syrien meant but wanting to sound confident anyways.

C.C.

"Really? Well, that ought to come in handy. Just make sure you don't use it too often. Switching these kinds of spells works better than just sticking with one of them. Prolonged use could have some bad side effects. And, moving on, what exactly do you have planned for your special Night?" C.C. asked, winking at Katie and giving her a perverted grin.

Syrien

"I presume you've heard the already circulating rumors? If so, I just wanted you to be clear on your involvement n the wedding." Syrien replied.

Rein

"Oh, right! Atiya!" Rein felt a wave of guilt overcome her as she thought of her neglected daughter. They really needed to be better about their parenting methods, especially with the Twins on the way. Rein had never been that irresponsible with Atiya before reuniting with Kegan, admittedly, but it was equally their fault that they kept forgetting about their child.

"We, um, really need to be better about this. Ok. Let's go find them. Knowing Atiya I wouldn't be surprised if she convinced Ana or tricked her into letting her and Alain roam free." Rein went on. "We should find her quickly before she gets too sleepy. It's around time for her name. Maybe Alain's, too."
