Amador: Southern Countryside

The Southern part of Amador is warmer by far than the other areas and pretty flat, save for the occasional hilly patch and the mountains far in the South-East. The most iconic feature of the south are the plowed fields of grain, wheat and corn that cover most of the area. There are a few woods of some size, but mostly it’s just lingering groves in-between fields and meadows. It is no wonder that the south is called Amador’s breadbasket.
Several places throughout the Southern area are militia-stationed watch points and Chapterhouses for several Knightly Orders. There isn’t a village in the whole region which doesn’t have at least a militia barracks AND a Knightly Order’s Chapterhouse. This heavy military presence is in stark contrast to the tranquil atmosphere, but the Dragon-King has no intentions of losing his breadbasket to raiding Strifers.

Areas of Notice:
-Emond’s Crossroad: This is where the road going south from Cintra crosses the road going from the Great Marsh and towards Eastern Amador. At the crossroad are there three buildings, overlooking the busy trading-vein of the South. One’s a militia watchtower with adjacent barracks, the other across fro it to the south is a Chapterhouse for the Knights of the Scarlet Wyrm, and the larges of the three is a giant tavern called “Emond’s Flagon and Bed”. The Knights of the Scarlet Wyrm are eager horse archers and true devote of the Dragon-King.

-Blotchrock Graveyard: Some way into one of the most overgrown forests in the southern region is a open square walled off by an old wall barely four feet high. Inside the enclosure stand the graves of centuries past. Many if the tombstones lie toppled and the once majestic mausoleums are now in varying states of decay. The whole area has an eerie feeling even at midday and it is ripe with White Ether.

-Castle Drakheim: Nestled against the mountains of the far South-East, the castle is a sight to behold even from a distance. Its slim towers and looming spires give it an angular, unnatural shape. Castle Drakeheim has been abandoned for about 200 years after a series of mysterious events that concluded with the Massacre of Drakeheim. Now most people believe the place to be cursed and few approach its gloomy walls voluntarily.

-Elsevier town: A quiet, little town in the vicinity of over there.
