Amador: Elsevier town

Not all of Amador is shining white walls and knights in gleaming armor. Elsevier town is a sleepy settlement that grew from a trading-post for grain and other farm-produce. Its buildings are scattered almost willy-nilly with wide passages between them and built in rough wood on top of sandy-colored stone fundaments. Around the town is a wooden wall constructed for defense against raiders, though the three gates into town are of stone. The South-West has always been a quiet place and therefore the people that inhabit Elsevier are cheery and friendly people, though somewhat skeptical of outsiders.
The surrounding countryside is mostly plains and rolling hills with the occasional forest or lake. The closer you come to the village, the more of the fields are used for agriculture or grazing for cattle. In the end, as you approach the town itself, the road is caged in by fields at both sides.

Places of Notice:
-The Grain Market: In the center of town is a wide open plaza, the only area that has cobblestones. To the west of the plaza stands the Courthouse and across from it is the Merchant’s Guild Chapterhouse. There are few proper shops in Elsevier, but instead the shopkeepers put up a stand on the stone plaza. Most of what is being traded is corn, seed or livestock in large quantities, but the blacksmith can help with broken equipment and Elsevier’s fletched is renowned for his arrows (Must be because he’s a Wood Elf).

-Wicker-woman’s Cabin: Near the outskirts of Elsevier sits the cabin of Elisa the Wicker-Woman. Though the denizens might regard her with skepticism or fear, they are mostly grateful for her presence. Elisa Machare is a Sorceress specializing in the Yellow Ether and despite her age-induced personality-quirks, she is a caring soul. Nearly anyone can come to her cabin in search for healing, be it for themselves, a friend who’s bedridden or a horse that broke its leg running. Only people she is distrustful of are Wizards and Mages.

-“Old-Man” Gee’s farm: Frank Herbert Gee is an old widower who lives alone on his farm about an hour’s ride from Elsevier. His house is a single-story stone building with a thatched roof and a single chimney rising up along the eastern wall. It is located with its back against one of the areas few forests and in front stretches a decently sized field which Old-Man Gee takes care of himself (With a little help from his three sons during harvest). What’s interesting is that last time Gee was plowing his field, his bull suddenly fell through the soil into some sort of underground passage. Getting some rope, Gee followed after it down the hole and found his bull with a broken neck and himself in an ancient ruin filled with blue-glowing glyphs.

-Greystone Hill: To the south of Elsevier rises one hill above all the rest in the rolling landscape. On top this hill are the ruins of what must once have been a great watchtower of a previous empire. It is a well known landmark and visiting academics have found that the ruins are Eldar in origin, but its purpose has yet to be discovered. Most believe it was a far watchtower for the Eldar nation. These days it is used as a refuge for travelers since the first story still stands and the basement is solid enough.
