Amador: Cintra, the White City: Outer City

The outer city is majestic in its own way. It might lack the glamour and awe of the Inner City, but it is far bigger. The buildings stand three stories tall more often than not and are made either solid gray rock, thick dark wood or most often a bit of both. Most often the ground floor will be of stout stone and the upper floors will be of wood. The streets in-between them are wide and run either at straight angles or a slight curve parallel to the outer wall.
Cintra is a huge city, only beaten in size by the Capitol of Iri’thilen. What distinguishes Cintra from the other Capitol is that it is fully populated. Each home has residences and each shop has employees. The population of Cintra has boomed in later years and therefore the Outer City has begun spreading to outside the walls, slowly but surely.
This increase in the population has also had other effect, such as force the White City to grow a seedy underbelly. Crime rates are slowly climbing, especially on the fringes of the scale: Petty thievery and organized crime. Gangs have always been present in fair Cintra, but now it is feared that they might be orchestrated by a hidden menace. Most people in the taverns put their money on it being Mathius Ras'part-ahl, the Tower Puppeteer.

Places of Notice:
-“The Three of Cups” Tavern: A favored watering hole for weary travelers, mostly due to its location next to the Adventurer’s Guild Chapterhouse and its cheap prices on lousy mead. The crowded common room never gets too rowdy into the night since most of the patrons want either to drink in silence to remember lost adventures or to talk in hushed whispers of what lies just beyond the horizon.

-Temple of Eight and the All: The Dwarfish masons who constructed the inner city built many wonders, but oddly enough no temples. Maybe they refused to build temples to gods they had no faith in? In any case, the consequence of this is that the high-temple of the Eight Divines is located outside the Inner Walls. The Temple is stunning it its construction, though few notice it after having seen the stables of the Inner City. The high-temple was built under the reign of the second Dragon-King and the human masons knew they could never surpass the Inner City in their stonework, so instead they covered nearly every surface with leafed gold or silver, precious jade, gems and other embellishments.

-“Wolves and Wolverines” Fight Club: First Rule about the W&W fight club: You don’t talk about the fight club. You especially don’t talk about it being located in a warehouse to the eastern edge of the city. The warehouse is owned by the merchant Ludvig Herder, but many believe the snobbish owner is only a proxy for someone else. After the sun sets, the warehouse opens its doors to those with coin and bets are placed as rugged fighters swing at each other. Ludvig is always interested in new fighters, for even though weapons are banned, the steel cage has been several a death over the years.

-“The Green Square” Market District: Though you will find shops and vendors in most parts of the outer district, it is “the Green Square” that is the true place of commerce in Cintra. The Green Square itself is only an open plaza in front of the Merchant Guild’s Headquarters, but it has given name to the entire area around it. Weapons, rugs, armor, paintings, clothes, cloth and all else you can imagine is traded both in bulk between merchants and smaller quantities.

-The Docks: Cintra itself lays on top a wide hill to the west of the Great Blue, a mighty river stretching all the way from the Sea of Isha through Amador and the Plains of Strife until it flows out into the ocean far to the south. The docks are outside the outer wall, nestled against the western bank of the river and made in the same style as the outer city. Though not technically outside of Cintra, the docks are still considered a part of the city by habit and ease. You won’t find much there except warehouses, shipyards, trading companies and maybe a tavern or two.
