Christian

Christian realised they were probably boned now. Both his and Hannah's arms were stuck in the hole he had crafted for one and although he had wanted to die stuck on a woman, this is not how the situation played out in his head. He felt himself wriggle and struggle, trying to pull his arm through as the chipped wood bit into his skin. He cried out, looking around at Hannah in guilt as she yelled at him.

His face distorted angrily, "in case you hadn't noticed, I AM ALSO FUCKING STUCK!"

Just as all seemed lost and Christian prepared (as best as you can) for his face to be eaten, Cameron came bowling down the hallway and as quickly as Christian's eyes widen in dreaded realisation of Cameron's intention, was as quickly as he ended up face down on the floor, though the force was enough to release the wooden grip from their arms. Christian shot to his feet, and helped Hannah up, smiling in relief.

That smile was quickly wiped from his lips as the moans of the zombies broke into the hallway. They were coming. And even more alarming, there seemed to be some sort of souped-up deadfucks amongst the crowd, their shrieks and scrambling clear as the others seemed to stumble.

"Christ on a cracker, let's MOVE!" Christian yelled, moving across the window. The windows in apartment block were specialty kinds, so as to prevent intruders, though at this height, Christian often thought that the designers must have had a malicious Spiderman in mind. He grabbed the latch in one hand and pressed his fingers against the glass with his other and in a fluid movement, he swiped it open. The crack was small, enough for them to squeeze through though and the emergency stairs platformed beneath the sill. He looked at the other two and beckoned them as he climbed out and felt a sickening drop of his stomach as he looked down.

Christian fucking hated heights. But in times like this, he'd prefer to be 1000 feet in the air than being gnawed on my Old Lady Margret and her pals.

"C'mon," He cried, "We aren't getting any safer in there."

Lulu

Lulu was filling her belt with shells and bolts when she heard a loud bang at the door. Then a voice. A woman's voice, and the sound of it wasn't friendly. Lulu froze as the cracking of her front door being broken down echoed through her home. Mind racing, she ducked into the living room and hid between the two bookshelves in the corner.

She fingered her father's hunting knife, ran her hand across the revolver, trying to decide what to do. The woman came into view, she was of Latin descent, with long black hair and a cruel yet attractive face. Lulu thought she recognised her, seen her somewhere, but couldn't think where.

Her eyes darted around the room, thinking of a way to escape when her eyes fell on her father's newspaper scattered across the floor. And there, in the pages, was this woman, her face the focus, a scowl written across it, and the words "Sierra, New Dean of Demonios". Lulu's heart pounded, this woman was the leader of the Los Demonios, one of the brutal gangs in the city. And she was here, for a purpose.

Lulu could guess what that purpose was; to take her home and it's surroundings for her own. And there was no way Lulu would let it go without a fight. She was raised here and if she had to, she would die here.

But first, she needed a plan. Looking down at her feet, she breathed out silently and remembered the garage. She needed to get there and cause a little fire.

Hannah

Hannah felt her body hit the floor hard and her release from the doors near death grip... She was a little hazy and felt like a train had just hit her full on. She felt Christian picking her up and looked forward just in time to see a chair connect with Old Lady Margaret.

Hannah shook her head and came back into reality. "Shit shit shit" she cursed to herself. She looked to Christian and then watched Cameron duck into the kitchen. At the same time Christian left her side and managed to jar open the window that led out onto the fire escape. He beckoned her and Cameron to follow and Hannah didn't waste a moment.

The screams and howls of the zombies were drawing closer... Hannah could hear running down the hallway... She turned to look for Cameron and still couldn't see him.. "CAMERON!! Come on!" She yelled as she ducked through the window and out onto the fire escape.

Hannah went to move but saw Christian pause for a moment, "What's the matter? she said hurriedly, "we've got to go!".

Cameron

Cameron heard Christian's call to follow and intended to go straight away, but as he moved to leave he felt a cold hand grip his arm. His heart raced and he turned to find the frail figure of Old Lady Margaret's friend; "Help me" she croaked, "I've been hiding for days now in the other room". This old lady was frail and looked like she was in her early 80's. Cameron paused and had to think...

Hannah screamed for him to follow. Cameron turned around to look to where Hannah was yelling at him and turned back to the old lady, she was standing upright and had her tongue out of her mouth and to the side.. That's when Cameron noticed a small wedge of her hand was missing... The old lady gurgled and began to rasp... She had been bitten and only just, so it had taken a few days for the infection to take hold.. and unfortunately for Cameron, she had chosen him to die in front of.

Before anything could happen, Cameron picked the old lady up and with barely any effort, tossed her out the fifth floor apartment window and sent her hurtling to the street below. He paused for a moment to feel bad about what he'd done, but quickly resolved that she would have bitten him.

Cameron made it out to the fire escape and opened up his lighter and lit it, just as the horde began its entrance to the apartment. Cameron turned to shout at the two others, "Hold on to your arses tightly! I'm blowing these dead fuckers up!". He tossed the lighter into the apartment and ducked and held onto the railing of the fire escape.

A loud BOOM! erupted and momentarily everything for Cameron went mute. The side of the building rumbled and the windows and a portion of the apartment's walls were blown onto the street below. As his hearing came back, Cameron flashed a stupid grin, filled with a small proudness for his act that, while had saved them for a bit, was in reality rather stupid.

Cameron stood back up, smelled the fouls stench of burning skin, and saw that while he had initially stopped the oncoming attack, he had by no means stopped them permanently. He turned to other and said swiftly before moving past them, "we've gotta hight tail it the **** outta here". He then began the decent to the street below.

Sierra

Sierra walked more into the house. To her left was a study... or perhaps an office. To her right was a living room and in front of her a hallway that led down to the rest of the house. Sierra moved into the office and began quickly rummaging around it looking for any keys that might open the gates down at the front of the scrapyard.

"Where the **** are you?" she said to herself.

When Sierra came to the conclusion that the keys weren't in the office/study she proceeded to move through the house, but she stopped just in front of the living room... She realised she could smell something... it was faint... but, it was there. Sierra could smell the faint aroma of coffee in the house.

"Someone's here" she smiled to herself. She leant back and looked down the hallway... No movement and she couldn't hear shuffling... But that didn't mean much. She looked around the living room and spotted a table in a far corner...

"Who's been loading their gun?" she said with a sinister tone as she approached the table that was covered in shells and bullets. "Naughty naughty..." she mused.

Sierra turned around, and glanced across the room... Unfortunately the curtains were drawn and it wasn't easy to see. She inadvertently placed a hand on the knife holstered in her leg and said coyly, "Come out, come out, wherever you are" she flashed her playful smile and proceeded to move about the house, walking down the hallway.

"I'm going to find you".

Christian

Christian could feel his stomach churning, the acid bubbling as the heights seemed to be fluctuating. He felt Hannah beside him and looked up, his throat dry as a bone when he tried to swallow. "N-nothing. I am alright. Where's Cameron?" He asked, hoping he didn't look as green as he felt.

Just as the question about Cameron fell from his lips, Old Lady Margret soared passed them and fell into the street below as Cameron joined them on the platform and threw his zippo into the apartment. Christian ducked seconds before the explosion, thankfully realising Cameron's intentions, a little shitty he didn't tell them what he was planning. Christian stood a moment later, scrunching his nose as the stench of rotting, cooked flesh wafted towards them in a cloud of smoke.

"Yeah, let's get out of here. Rent was too expensive anyway." He quipped as he made his way down the stairs, the iron wobbling under his weight and as he stumbled onto the fourth floor platform, he felt the entire structure sway, the grinding noise of metal on brick. His neck craned up and he saw that the explosion had loosened the grips on the wall and the stairs were coming away from the building.

"HOLYFUCK! MOVE! IT'S GONNA COLLAPSE!" He screamed, running clumsily down the stairs, trying to reach solid ground on his terms, before they unwillingly smashed into it.

Lulu

Lulu's heart stopped when Sierra spoke. She knew someone was there and her intent was clear; kill Lulu and take her home. She needed to get to the garage and cause a disturbance while she worked out how to rid her house of these dangerous intruders.

She waited until the woman was in the hallway, when she slipped out from her hiding spot and crept through the kitchen. Thankfully, the backdoor was still open and she could squeeze through, into the garage. She moved silently, walking on the balls of her feet. She shifted in the shadows of the dying daylight and then, into the garage. The smell of her father's corpse was almost unbearable, and Lulu nearly gasped aloud. Instead, she inhaled through her mouth and quickly moved to the corner where she kept the gasoline.

She seized a tank and splashed it across the room, throwing it over the VW, throwing it over her father and his prized workshop. She then grabbed the lighter from her pocket and sparked it, as her eyes fell on the bench and she realised, she would probably need her toolbelt. She ran across, feet splashing, slipping in the flammable liquid as she snatched up her heavy belt and strapped around her hips.

She then moved to the door, took a deep breath and said goodbye to the only life she knew as she flicked her dad's lighter on the oil-covered floor. The flames sprung to life, almost from nowhere and she dashed outside, moving back into the laundry as the sound of the raging fire hissed and spat.

Hannah

Hannah caught on fast and realised that Christian must have been scared of heights... She was about to console him when Cameron practically jumped through the window and out onto the fire escape and yelled something... She saw Christian duck and followed suite and suddenly the whole place shook. "What the ****?" she shouted out loud and looked over to see Cameron with a stupid grin on his face.

Hannah turned back to Christian to see what his reaction was but saw he was a flight down and yelling that the stairs were coming away... Hannah put her rear into gear and bolted down the stairs... She began jumping the flights rather than actually taking each step and she quickly surpassed Christian. But as she jumped to miss small amounts of stairs she felt the whole structure begin to move away from the building. That's when she heard the clang of metal on metal and looked up to see the fire escape begin to fall apart.

"FUCKING HELL!" she cursed as she reached the final ladder that would get her to the ground... She began to climb down and decided to just jump the few feet to the ground instead of wasting precious time fucking around.

She hit the street and heaved deeply, looked back to watch the boys descend and yelled to them "I'm getting across the road!", she bolted and crossed the street and rested momentarily on a stoop watching as an explosion caused more of Old Lady Margaret's apartment completely blow out.. now taking another apartment with it and watching the fire escape fall completely.

Cameron

Cameron watched as the two other raced down the fire escape and panicked when he heard Christian yell that it was coming apart. As he descended he watched as Hannah began skipping stairs and shaking the structure, he yelled down to her to "stop fucking jumping!" but she didn't hear and was across the street before he even reached the ladder.

Cameron watched as Christian reached the street and he just made to the ladder and began to descend when another explosion caused him to drop to the street and land square on his back.
Cameron sat up groggily and quickly got to his feet when he realised that the fire escape was falling down. He followed Hannah's suite and found refuge with her on the stoop, watching as the building before them began to burn.

Sierra

Sierra methodically made her way through each room, checking every cupboard and hiding space for whoever was hiding there. She knew enough from what she saw that it was just one person, and it was either a girl or a guy from the photos she saw...

As Sierra looked around in one bedroom - the girls - she found a framed photo of the old man with a woman and a younger version of the girl in the other photos. Her bed was unmade unlike the mans and Sierra concluded that the girl must have been the one who was in the house... Excellent she thought to herself.. Easier to kill a bitch.

That's when Sierra heard a thump and smelled something burning. She raced through the house and saw smoke coming from the kitchen... Sierra went to go investigate the source of the smoke and the fire that was apparently now burning well underway but she heard footsteps running through the living room.

"****" Sierra cursed aloud. She turned on her heels and began to chase the bitch whom was trying to ruin her takeover of a precious commodity.

Sierra burst out the front door just in time to watch a seemingly runt of a girl attempt to high tail it out of the scrapyard. Sierra wasn't going to allow that to happen and pulled her knife from her left leg holster, aimed and threw it straight into the calf of the bitch who had now successfully set the garage and half the house on fire.

Christian

Christian just made it to the ground as the Cameron did. Hannah had already bolted to the other side of the street, where she was catching her breath on the stoop of another apartment complex. Cameron joined her as Christian looked around, hearing the distant moans and the scent of burning skin singed into his sinuses. Christian ran over to the others and sat for a moment, his knees shaking under his scrubs. He sighed, following their eyes up to the burning building he once called home.

Before he could tear up and reminisce fondly, the shuffling sounds of death cut through, and Christian shot to his feet, worried. They needed to be safe, at least for a few moments, to clear their minds and work out what exactly to do next.

Looking inside the building they were resting in front of, all seemed relatively normal in the lobby. Christian could see an office door, with bars across the glass; obviously where the place had kept the money. Hopefully, they could be safe in there, for a moment.

"C'mon, " Christian muttered, tilting his head inside, "let's go in here."

Christian pushed the glass door open, seeing the floor covered with junk; paper, money, trash, clothes, and what he suspected was blood. He moved quietly across the floor and to the office door. He peered inside, seeing nothing and carefully turned the handle. The office was unlocked, obviously having been deserted in a hurry. He stepped inside and waited for the others to follow.

They needed a plan.

Lulu

What happened as Lulu ran across the scrapyard was all a blur. One minute, she was sprinting towards her house, the next she had collapsed to the ground, mud from a night's rain spraying across her, clumping in her hair. She looked down and saw a knife protruding from her calf and for a few seconds, there was no pain, only adrenalin and shock.

Then came the scorching agony. The knife had slid into muscle and as she fell, she had knocked it's hilt slightly, enough for it to twist and shred some tissue. Lulu howled in pain, attempting to grab just above her wound, trying to apply pressure to ease the throbbing. Tears were falling from her eyes as her face screwed up, her breathing was shallow and fast. She started to attempt a crawl, sliding through the thick mud.

She couldn't let it end like this, but now unable to get up, she didn't see herself lasting much longer. She looked through towards the woman, through wet, muddy eyelashes, and felt her blood boiling as she collapsed, her hand underneath her stomach, holding her own knife tightly.

Hannah

Hannah followed Christian into the apartment and through to the office. She took note of how abandoned this relatively new building now looked. Everything from practical to stupidly material littered the floor. As she entered the office she took a seat in the chair and put her face in her hands once more taking a few deep breaths.

She lifted her head back up an watched as Cameron entered and closed the door behind her. She looked back and forth between the two waiting for a conversation to start, but everyone just seemed stunned by what had just happened... Hannah decided to speak first;

"We need a plan right now.". She said sternly, then looked at Cameron, "And one that won't get us blown the fucking fuckk up this time.". She didn't mean to sound so harsh, but she also knew that it was true... This guy definitely had the means to protect them, but he also seemed to possess the momentary stupidity to kill them too.

She looked to Christian, "what do you think we should do?" then she looked at Cameron, "Whatever happens, we should stick together guys..." She slumped back into the chair and realised she still hadn't introduced herself, and either had Christian... "By the way Cameron, I'm Hannah and this is Christian..." she smiled softly, "and I... WE can't express enough probably how grateful we are that you saved us!" she smiled again.

Cameron

Cameron followed Hannah and Christian into the building through to the office. Hannah gave him a look as to say what do we do next then shot the same look to Christian.. Cameron didn't talk, he had no idea what to do. The city had gone to hell more than he had thought... Those dead-fucks were in bigger numbers than the media had reported...

Hannah then had a go at him for his plan that blew up the apartment and admittedly nearly gotten them killed. He scrunched up his face though and was about to interject to tell her that his plan had actually saved them! But she thanked him for saving her and Christian and then introduced them.

"Well, sorry I nearly killed you..." he apologised, "But we're alive, and nice to meet ya... I think...." he trailed off. He was used to working in a gang, so travelling with them wasn't an issue... but Cameron was determined to see justice on those who had fucked him over, and while this guy before him was obviously some medical professional, and this girl was fast and easily was able to keep going.. he wasn't sure they were mentally strong enough to help him survive and get justice...

"Look" he began, "I want to stay with you lot.. but I got things to clean up... and it's not really the best thing for you two I bet.." Cameron looked at them both, "You two stick together.. I'm sure you'll be fine." Cameron turned to leave.

Sierra

Sierra watched as the girl before her hit the ground and began to crawl through the mud attempting to flee. She began to laugh and started her strides towards the girl taunting her all the while, "Now where was my little fire-starter going?" she mocked, Sierra neared Lulu.

She reached down, grabbed the wounded leg and pulled her back and turned her over in one swift motion, putting her face level with Lulu and spoke fast, ripping her knife back out and holding it to the girls face, "You just made the worst fucking mistake of your life" she sneered, "You just cost be a decent base and a lot of good resources, for that, i'm gonna gut you.".

Christian

Christian was leaning against the desk in the office, nodding along as Hannah grilled Cameron for nearly turning them into toast. And kept nodding as she thanked him. He was grateful, without him, they would still be in his apartment, some parts in torn pieces and other's in the zombie's stomachs.

"Nice to meet you, yeah." Christian smiled, feeling less uneasy for a moment... Until Cameron told them he had other business to attend to and made for the door. That is when Christian scowled and stepped forward quickly, grabbing onto Cameron's bulging arms.

Dear god, an arm wrestle is now out of the question... He thought stupidly before speaking seriously.

"Look, Cameron, while Hannah and I may not be as strong as you, we both have valuable skills that you would be lost without. I am a nurse, so treating wounds is something I know well and I am sure that if you sliced your thigh open, you wouldn't know the first HYGIENIC thing to do. No, wrapping a piece of your brain-splattered shirt won't help." He said, his chest puffed out a little as he continued.

"Also, Hannah is super fast and agile. Let's say your 'business' you need to clear up was in a place you wanted scoped out first... I highly doubt, and correct me if I am wrong Hulk, but I doubt you are much good at recon style missions, considering you struggled to squeeze through the meter gap in the window. So yes, we may not be as tough as you, but we have our skills and if it means getting the fuuck out of here, then we'll come with you and help you clear... your name or get revenge or whatever." Christian had no idea what Cameron was going to do and in retrospect, it would probably be safer to stay where they were.

But they needed each other, they each had skills the others lacked. He looked at Hannah and shrugged, "you in Han?"

A potential tide-turning thought popped into Christian's head and his face cracked into a grin.

"I also have a car. It was being fixed at the best mechanics in town. Does that entice you to stay? You can even drive it if you want..." Oh god, why did I say that...

Lulu

Lulu held in the shriek of pain as Sierra tore her knife back from her calf. She stared into her eyes and refused to break the connection as Sierra threatened to gut her. She swallowed her cry, fought back the tears and twisted her own knife into her fingers, poised.

Her voice was soft, but firm. "No, it was your worst mistake for coming here and thinking I'd just let you have my home. FUUCK YOU!" And with a flick of her wrist, she brought her hunting knife up and slashed it down across Sierra's face, blood hitting her in the eyes as she was dropped.

An enormous burst of adrenalin swarmed her bloodstream, her muscles, her brain and however unsteady, however agonizing, Lulu ran to the front shed, threw the door open, used her back to slide the shed open further and then snatched the first set of keys she could get her hands on. She was shaking uncontrollably and her mind was a shambles of pain and excitement as she read the tag quickly and grinned. She half-ran, half dragged herself over to the old Chevy Nova and unlocked it, tore the door open and fell in. She fumbled with the keys, managed to turn the engine and then took off out through the shed, and with narrowed eyes, broke through her own fence. The tyres screamed as they hit the asphalt and she took off down the street, leaving nothing but dust and memories behind her.

She started to laugh manically, thinking that the owner was probably dead now so he wouldn't mind her taking his baby out for a spin. But as her adrenalin wore off, so did the laughing. And soon she was crying once more, blood streaming onto the leathery interior.

Hannah

Hannah was about to reach out and stop Cameron but Christian beat her to the punch line. "He's right!" she butted in at the end of Christian's speech, "I am fast, and he is a nurse..."

Hannah stood up and stretched, "I want to come with you... we both do." She smiled and then looked sternly at Cameron, "So whatever it is you've got to do, you'd be better at having us help you..."

Then she looked at Christian, and to Cameron again, "A car is exactly what we need right now. If we get it we can make out next move... think about somewhere that should be safe and get to it.. if we tried by foot we'd be dead faster than we could even start to get away."

She readied herself and held the door open, "where are we going then Christian.. you lead the way."

Cameron

Cameron felt overwhelming proud of himself that he was needed. But it was also true what they said to him... they had skills he needed too. Cameron lowered his head and then took a deep breath, "OK ok ok ok..." he said. He lifted his head back up, "Where are we going Christian?"

Sierra

Sierra reeled back and fell on her ass screaming.

"YOU FUCKING BITCH! NO NO NO NO!" if there was one thing Sierra took most pride in, it wasn't her ruthlessness, or her ability to render someone immobile permanently if she wanted to, but it was her face. She knew she was renowned for her beauty and ruthlessness, and she'd be damned if some little fucking whore was going to ruin her without dying.

Sierra got to her feet just in time to watch Lulu rush past her in a car... Sierra grabbed her knife and swiped at the car, but did little to it, merely leaving a small scratch. Sierra watched as the bitch ran the car down the street in an attempt to get away.

"Run you little bitch" she called out after her, "I'm coming for you.." Sierra turned and went to find her gang members, **** this place and let it burn... She was out to make that bitch pay.

Lulu

Lulu shot around the corner, tyres screeching and slipping on the wet tar. She was speeding, weaving through the abandoned cars like a race-car driver. She didn't really know where she was going, and after fifteen minutes of bi-polar like symptoms, her mind was clearing. But that didn't mean she had any clue of what to do. Her home was destroyed. Her parents both dead. And she was being hunted. Oh, and the dead had risen to eat the living.

She needed to find a place to go, to be safe.

But she didn't know much about the city, she had no other family here. And even if she did, she assumed they would be dead. Instead, she tore through the city, taking out any zoms that stumbled into her path.

(So guys, I have a request. I can't keep up with you if you keep posting this fast---there's the fact of the way different time zones, my work schedule, I only have one computer to share between me and my boyfriend and we both write, etc. Not just RPs, but serious writing. I was going to have my character join up with Cameron, Hannah, and Christian as soon as they hit the ground, but now I'm going to have to figure out a new way to find you guys. Point is though, think you could slow down a bit? I didn't even get a chance to check this yesterday.)

“Well. You three certainly know how to throw a party.” Danni spoke dryly from her position, leaning casually against a doorframe. How they had missed her she didn’t understand, considering she hadn’t bothered hiding. Minos sat at her side, his ears pinned back against his head as he watched the three. He was on high alert, but he wasn’t giving his telltales for someone infected with whatever virus was causing the deadheads. So, these three weren’t bit. Yet. At the rate they were going, who knew how long it’d be before one of them did something stupid enough that their luck ran out.

“No, don’t get excited.” Her eyes flashed, cold and hard. “Don’t do anything stupid.” She had her gun trained on the largest of the trio, though it was easy to tell from the way she held the firearm she was all too familiar with its usage. “If I had wanted to kill you I’d have done it while you were scrambling down that collapsing fire escape. Or when you crossed the street.”

The wolfdog let out a low growl. A snap of his master’s fingers quieted him instantly. “So, your plan is it get a car at an undisclosed location and the let this idiot drive? With luck you’ll die in the crash instantly, rather than being stuck waiting for the deadheads to bust in and tear your fucking faces off.” The woman straightened and took a step into the room. Her aim never wavered as she spoke. “Not that I particularly care if you three intend to kill yourselves, but you could at least have to common curtsey to do so without destroying valuable resources for those who aren’t planning on meeting the reaper any time soon.”

Cameron

"Idiot?!" Cameron said incredulously. "Who do you think you are?" He sneered as he took a step forward. "You think I'm gonna let some lesbian hold a gun in my face?" he chided as he pulled his own gun from inide his jacket.

"Look at you... waltzing around in the shadows in this building pretending you're the good survivor.." Cameron was pissed off and unfortunately the girl in front of him was copping all his frustration he'd been bottled up for last half our or so.

"We survived coz we've got the skills and brains to do so... and we don't walk around pointing guns at people and insulting them." he pulled his thumb down on the safety on his gun. "so either you put that piece of bullshit away and be civil, or shoot us and **** off... or see how much farther you can push this conversation before I shoot you.."

Cameron wasn't unfamiliar with people like this chick... he was in gang after all... she looked like someone his gang would employ if they ever needed something shadier than usual done.

Hannah

Hannah snapped her head towards the sound of the voice. It was a woman who looked to be about her age, but was so far from Hannah's way of life it was almost laughable. Before she could say anything however, Cameron had unleashed, what she had guessed was stress from the last half hour, and to make things worse, he and this new girl were pointing guns at each other... Hannah was also uneasy about the dog she had by her side...

Cameron stopped talking and Hannah took her turn, "Who are you? she said cautiously.. she didn't want the situation to be any worse.. But guns were involved and Hannah sensibly thought words were better used more carefully than Cameron was...

"Put the gun down Cameron... it's not helping anything.. if she was gonna shoot us she would have already.. obviously we're of some importance.." she turned to the girl, "and to answer some of your remarks.. yes we're gonna let him drive.. yes we're getting a car and you wouldn't have made it out alive if you'd have gone into that building..." she sighed, "you obviously saw how bad it was... so my question for you is... why are you talking to us? You could have killed us and taken whatever we had.. a gun.. some ammo..a first aid kit" she gestured to Christian... "but you didn't...".

Hannah stepped forward, "My name is Hannah... this is Christian and Cameron... we're working together... to survive... and if you want.. come with us?"

Sierra

Sierra held the cloth to her face and then pulled it away, a thick line of blood ran along it when she looked down into it and she screamed in absolute anger.

"That fucking bitch is dead if its the last thing i do" she cursed loudly. She looked back up into the side mirror of a useless car within the scrapyard, and gently touched the cut. In retrospect she was probably very lucky, it wasn't a particularly large cut, but it ran down through and eyebrow and onto her cheek. Essentially, if it wasn't her and wasn't so serious, she'd be reminiscent of a disney character.

"Have you salvaged anything?" she sneered as she turned around to face one of her loyal gang members... "Dante is gonna need as much as he can get to fix as many cars as we can..." she looked back at her face.. she was still beautiful, and she knew it, and there would probably be very little scarring, but **** that. She turned back around to face the gang member, she couldn't even remember his name, but who gave a ****, she didn't at the best of times... "This shit storm will blow over eventually, and if we're not prepared to wait it out, and be ready to run this city afterwards, then we're fucked to the high heavens."

The gang member politely agreed, and turned to take whatever they'd scavenged and go with everyone else. He spoke quickly to Sierra, "everything is ready ma'am... and when you give the go we'll all leave, we even found this motorbike".

Sierra looked the motorbike over.. it wasn't half bad, it was a Kawasaki Ninja, appropriate for her, "I'm taking this..." she sneered, "You take the rest of that shit, I've got business to attend to and a score to settle with a whore", she grabbed the keys from the gang member and started the bike with a roar...She put the helmet on that was sitting on one of its handles and kicked back the stand.

The bike roared into life and Sierra did a complete 180 without even wobbling. She zoomed off into the city after the bitch that cut her face. Behind her the house and garage fell to the ground and the scrapyard slowly followed suite.

“Heh, lesbian. How original.” At the appearance of the gun Minos leapt to his feet, a snarl baring wicked fangs. “Minos!” She snapped, her eyes---and weapon-- never leaving the man with his gun. Minos growled, but settled back on his haunches, his hackles still bristling. Once the man had finished ranting and throwing half-baked insults and threats at her she opened her mouth to speak, but the timid looking pretty bitch spoke up first.

“You should listen to her, Cameron, she at least as a few brain cells left to rub together.” Her gaze flickered between the two. “You’ve got it all wrong, girl. You’re not important at all. All you are is another bunch of fuckheads that have lucked out and managed to avoid the deadheads. Main difference is this time your idiocy caught my interest.”

She leveled her gaze on Cameron. He looked like someone who knew their way around the streets. The suburban streets at least. He didn’t carry himself like a typical inner-city douche bag. If he was a gang member then she could rule out her own. Along with any of the smaller ones her people did business with. She was well enough known that had he been associated with any of them he should have recognized her. And if not her, Minos for sure. The two of them carried quite the reputation. Which left two possibilities: Los Demonios--they were growing in power. Not enough to threaten her people, the Russians were content to let the street gang run the suburbs, they had the real wealth and power in the city itself. Or the Reapers--a small upstart that was slowly working their tendrils through the city, probing lines and testing boundaries. The kingpins had wanted them watched. She’d have to listen to him speak a bit more before she’d be able to decide to which he belonged. If he belonged to any.

“The gun drops when I say it does. As I said, I have no intention of shooting you.” She nodded in the direction of the door. “If you think that car alarm was a dinner bell, the **** do you think a gunshot is? Seen more than my fair share of macho idiots shooting a few rounds off and then being swarmed in the past few weeks. If you think that swarm was bad, wait till you go further in. The fast fucks are everywhere in the city, running in packs like rabid dogs.”

Danni lightly rubbed the top of Minos’s head with the fingertips of her free hand before continuing. “Streets are clogged with traffic and wrecks, so unless you relish the though of being meat in a ready to serve can, I’d avoid the car. Stick to bikes or on foot. Easier to escape notice that way.” A slight smirk twisted her lips. “You sure about that? Inviting me to join you without asking the men?” She glanced at Cameron. “I’m sure macho man over there disapproves. But what about him?” These people would probably slow her down. At best, she might form some kind of working alliance with them and benefit from it. Going it alone was hard, and having others to help with supplies would make life easier. And…at worst, they’d make good meat shields. Or food for Minos.

Cameron

Cameron stepped forward again, still pointing the gun forward. "Put your fucking gun away, or I start firing... I couldn't give a **** about those dead-fucks out there" he motioned his head towards the door.

Cameron kept his gaze strong. He was used to dealing with difficult people. He stood firm too, and didn't falter in his stance, he knew logically he was only making the situation more tense, but he'd be damned if he was gonna let some nobody bitch call him and idiot. He'd rather make things more difficult if it meant his pride staying in tact.

He then lowered his gun. Reason taking precedent over his pride. Hannah had said her peace and now this bitch before him was considering joining them... He mightn't be the most level-headed person ever, but he wasn't stupid.. this girl had street smarts... She was useful.

"I'd rather cut my own dick off than have her with us" he growled towards Hannah... "But..." he gritted his teeth, "if you want her in.. and if she stays away from me...".

Normally he would fight until he got his way or someone fucked off.. but everything was going shit and no one could afford the luxury of deliberations.

Hannah

Hannah sighed heavily. She never got offended by people's words... If they were directed at her anyway. She never saw the point in it... Obviously Cameron felt different though. He was adamant on keeping his gun on the girl in front of them, and Christian was being awfully quiet.

Hannah stepped forward again, and held her hands up in a defensive non-threatening way. "Everyone needs to calm the **** down" she stressed. "And no one is going to fucking shoot anyone" she continued.

Hannah looked up at Cameron, "You need to cool your head, you are being an idiot at the moment", She then turned to Danni and curtly continued her scolding, "And you need to drop your weapon too and pull your own head in... we're not here to cause any trouble and if you think we're gonna get killed as soon as we step outside then you can **** off.. otherwise my previous offer still stands..." she turned to Christian...

"Stop standing there like a half stunned chook and say something for gods sake".

Christian

Christian was shocked. One moment he had been standing there, finally making progress within this random group of people that the walking dead had strung together and then this chick rolls in, with a bitchass attitude and a wolf.

He realised he had been staring hard at this stranger and rubbing a piece of his shirt between his forefinger and thumb; something he did when deep in thought and nervous. This girl seemed hardcore, seemed like she could tear them to shreds or signal her dog to... and yet, she hadn't. And Christian didn't really believe it was because she was interested in them. It's the fucking end of the world, the dead are walking and eating the living, there is PLENTY of other things to be interested in. Maybe she needed them too, travelling alone (even with a beast) is dangerous. And surely, unless she was some being from outer-space, surely she didn't have all the skills they possessed as a group.

Christian took a step forward. "Look, guys, let's all just calm the fuckk down. I really don't care if you disagree with the idea about the car... Danni, was it?" He glanced at her quickly before going on, "then don't come. I have played enough survivalist games to know how fucking retarded it is to drive in an urban area, but you know the backstreets, so does Cameron. And you also haven't seem my car, it's a fucking brickshithouse built in the 60's, so it can take a pounding." He paused, he could feel his voice going up in decibels and his blood boiling. He was pissed. Why were they still here arguing? The fucking deadheads would be lining up outside, laughing if they could, at their stupidity.

"We need to decide now. I am a nurse, Danni. I'll bet that you have seen some gruesome shit in your time, but I am the one that can right those injuries and keep you alive. Unless, you have been bitten. Then I am sorry, you are fucked." Christian grinned, he thought he was funny.

He looked at Hannah and Cameron. "These two have helped me survive, we have helped each other. Forgive us if we aren't the greatest, it's just that the dead haven't always roamed the city and I never had time to practice how to wield a machete in case my neighbours tried to eat me." Not true, I did play L4D about a thousand times, but seriously, a fry pan...

"If you want in, come now, if not, have a good life." Christian stretched his legs out and took another step forward, towards the door. He had to go, he needed to get to his car. **** driving it, he needed to get what was in his glovebox.

“Danni.” She confirmed curtly. “And you shouldn’t worry about deadheads getting the jump on us. Minos would let me know. He’s the reason I didn’t kill any of you in the first place. He can smell whatever disease turns people into those mindless fucks happily eating people alive.” Her left shoulder dipped in a shrug. “Besides, your little stunt back there seemed to have drawn in most of the deadheads lurking around here. More’ll be shuffling in, sure. But it’ll take time.”

Casually, she returned her gun to its holster on her thigh. A smirk twisted her lips and she shot at Cameron: “Don’t worry big guy, I’ll keep well away from you and your dick.” With that she snapped two fingers and the wolf dog at her side stood--his hackles were still raised, but he wasn’t going to be taking any heads off. “For now, I’ll come with you. No promises that I’ll stay.”

She nodded towards the door before taking a few steps into the room and putting herself on the outer edge of the space the group occupied. “Lead on Nurseboy. Still think the car is fucking stupid, but maybe you’ll figure that out for yourself on the way.”

Hannah

Hannah shook her head, and just smile half-assedly. "Welcome aboard" she said as she followed Christian out onto the street..

The smell of burning-rotting flesh was putrid in the street. Luckily none of the zombies had spotted them yet. Hannah looked down both ends of the street... either seemed about as good as the other, and what Danni had said was true... by the looks of it the zombies around the nearest few blocks had been drawn to hers and christian's apartment building.

She turned to Christian, "which way do we go?" she looked down the right side of the street and Hannah swore she heard the distinct sound of screeching wheels.. "Can you hear that?" she said softly.

Cameron

Cameron put his gun away. This chick seemed fierce, but being fierce alone didn't mean jack on the streets... You had to be smart, strong and fierce... If you lacked just one you were fucked.

"whatever" Cameron mumbled as he pushed past Danni and onto the street. Hannah asked which way to go, and Cameron looked left and right... "There's a mechanic about 8 blocks that way" he said as he pointed right. Hannah then asked if they could hear something... He turned his head to see if he could hear and sure enough there was a faint screech and roar of an engine...

"Yeah!" he said suspiciously.. "I haven't seen people driving for about three days..."

Christian

Christian flashed Danni a salty smile and stepped out through the lobby and onto the street where Hannah and Cameron were waiting, his mind ticking. Heh, nurseboy. I've been called worse. Besides, she might put on a hardass mask, but she needs us just like we need her. And her wolf. He chewed his bottom lip, and looked to the left and right down the streets. They were trashed; blood splattered across the concrete, shattered glass glistening in the last light of the afternoon, half eaten corpses strewn across the streets like dried up turds with clouds of flies abuzzing. He was used to blood and gore, but this was just unsettling - after all, he may have known those corpses, may have sat next them on the bus or stood behind them at the Indian take-away shop. Obviously not as corpses, but still.

Christian looked at Hannah and gave her a soft smile. "Right, as Cameron said. There is a mechanic down that way, he is probably talking about the same one-..." The sound of tyres screaming on the tarmac rang through his ears. "Wait... What the fuckk?"

Lulu

The streets were filled with abandoned cars; doors hanging on hinges, windscreens cracked, half-eaten people still strapped into their seats. But Lulu was having a great time, music cranking through the speakers. Lulu was a good driver, her father had taught her that to fix a car, one must know it from the inside out. You can't fix a car, if you don't know how to drive it. He would say.

She weaved and swerved through the frozen traffic, accelerating so much to make the engine roar; a sound which, along with the squealing of the tyres, was attracting the undead. But to her, it was exhilarating, mowing those fuckers down, their gangrenous limps torn and flying, a black ooze splattering the windscreen. She would let out a wild hoot each time her bumper collided with their bodies.

She screeched around another corner, clipped a car and skidded to the left. Without a second thought, she let go of the wheel and accelerated, something her dad taught here and within seconds, the car righted itself. She exhaled, and squinted in focus when she saw a group of people on the street. She grinned and put her foot down.

Hannah

"I knew I heard something!" Hannah said excitedly. She looked back to exchange a look with the others... "They're driving that car.. but they're going too fast..." Hannah stepped out to wave at the person driving, to slow down. There was too much debris around from the explosion earlier for a car to safely make it all the way through without being damaged... Hannah reasoned within too that they could use the stranger to take them to Christian's car...

Hannah stepped out further, they needed this person to stop asap... They didn't have time to dick around with the zombies in the building and the car making all that noise. Hannah waved her arms about but she could have sworn the car accelerated. She looked to Christian, Danni and Cameron, "did they just speed up?"

Cameron

Cameron watched as the car roared down the main street right towards them... And Hannah made the stupid fucking move to go out on to the street and wave them down... The car sped up when she did too and Cameron moved in to action fast.

"get off the fucking road" he shouted at Hannah, "they're gonna try and hit us!" he yelled as he ran and dived for Hannah. He collided with her, and bear-hugged her as they hit the other side of the street with a hard thug.

Cameron released his grip on Hannah and moved to stand back up. The car was just moments from reaching where Hannah was, and the roar of the engine was deafening to Cameron's ears.

Sierra

Sierra revved the engine on the motorbike more. She had lost the bitch in the streets and had gone too far into the city for her liking. She wasn't afraid of the dead-fucks walking around, but she wasn't stupid enough to allow her ego and pride to get her killed...

Just as she was about to give up and go back to the Los Demonios' headquarters she'd established at the now abandoned city hall, she caught a flash of the bitch driving that car down a parallel street. Sierra turned the bike around and followed her fast.

As Sierra turned the corner on to the street where the bitch was driving she had to swerve suddenly to miss the flying freshly dismembered limbs of a zombie the girl had just hit.

Sierra was sure the girl hadn't seen her yet, but noticed that down the street people were waving the car down. Sierra pulled back and stopped the bike about 200 feet down the street and got off and hid behind the bike to watch the scene play out.

Danni forced Minos back to the sidewalk the second she became aware of the sound of the engine. And the Hannah had to step out in front of the car. Even before things went to hell people didn‘t stop for foot traffic in the city. Why the hell would they do so now? “Fucking moron…” Danni growled. Her sentiments were confirmed when the car sped up seemingly at the sight of Hannah.

Then Cameron dove into action, hurling himself into Hannah and throwing them both out of harms way. Danni scooped up the nearest piece of debris she could find and hurled it at the windshield of the oncoming car. The object just so happened to be a tire iron--probably discarded by someone trying to make a quick buck in the early anarchy of the outbreak--and the heavy tool flew true, arching in majestic circles before the car’s forward momentum sent it smashing into the window shield. Most likely it wouldn’t do serious harm to the driver, but it would certainly catch their attention. Deadheads hadn’t learned to throw things.

She upholstered her gun and waited for the car to slow or stop or crash. Those were the three most likely options anyway.

Lulu

Lulu could feel the Nova's gears shifting as the car picked up more speed and her grip on the leathery steering wheel tightened, her knuckles losing colour. Her injured leg was throbbing, sticky with blood trying to clot and save her life. She frowned when one of the zoms stepped right out into her path, waving her arms like a lunatic... Like someone signalling for help...

They were covered in blood, they were ambling, they were attracted to her... They had to be those things- the sound of something colliding with and cracking Lulu's windscreen jolted her from her thoughts as she shrieked. She stupidly hit the brakes, her leg seizing under the sudden pressure and Lulu's eyes filled with tears. Unable to see, she let go of the steering wheel and wrapped her hands around her chest, just as the car slammed into another parked vehicle.

Christian

His mouth was agape as the scene played out before him; Hannah running into oncoming traffic, Cameron spear-tackling her to the ground, Danni flinging a tire iron at the moving vehicle. He was stunned, rigid; and in what seemed like slow-motion, the car felt the sting of the tire iron splintering the windshield and then losing control, plowing straight into another burnt out one.

He just stared and four words fell from his mouth.

"That's my fucking car."

Hannah

Hannah hit the ground before she knew what was happening. Cameron was on his feet before she was, and Hannah stood up just in time to see the car that had nearly hit her, whiz past and slam into another car... it just missed her.. and Cameron.

"HOLY FUCKK!" she shouted in disbelief, "they tried to hit me?!" she couldn't believe it.. But that was Hannah. She always tried to assume the best in everyone, and she knew it was a big fault but she couldn't help it.

Without thinking Hannah raced to the car and over to the passengers side... the drivers side had swerved and slammed into the other car... Whoever was in it was only getting out through the passengers side.

"Are you ok?" she Hannah breathed out as she reached the car. The windows were smashed out. She tried to pull open the car door but it was jammed... Hannah didn't have time to **** around and put her head into the car to see a younger woman staring back, she repeated her words again, "ARE YOU OK!?" Hannah turned to Christian, Cameron and Danni, "I think she needs help!"

Cameron

Cameron was on his feet before Hannah, but she was off and to the car crash before he had time to tell how stupid she'd been.

"**** me" he sighed as he watched Hannah practically yelling at whoever was in the car. "Jesus christ" he cursed under his breath, "Do you have to help every single **** that fucks up Hannah?". She ignored him of course.

Then the moans started... Cameron had been oblivious to the moaning over the car noises. "Damn it!" he yelled and turned to Christian and Danni, "can you hear that?" he looked to the apartment building and noticed zombies starting to shamble back out...

"Come on... lets help Hannah and get outta here..." Cameron raced over to the car and looked in, there was blood all over the front seat... Cameron saw it was a young girl and that one of her calves was bleeding.

Cameron's thoughts went straight into survival, "get the **** away from her!" Cameron yelled as he yanked Hannah out of the vehicle she was trying to scramble into... "She's has been bitten!"

Sierrra

Sierra watched as the scene unfolded in front of her. Who were these interfering fuckers?. Sierra withdrew a gun from the back of her pants, and started to walk towards the wreck that lay down the street.

She raised her gun and was preparing herself to fire four times to take down the dickheads that had now tangled themselves up with feisty -soon to be dead- bitch. But as she put her finger to the trigger she saw the zombies shuffling out of a seriously fucked up apartment building down the road near the car crash. Then she saw more shuffling out of other building, then some beginning to the corners into the street she was in.

"**** this" she hissed and turned on her heels. She made it back to her bike and started it up, the engine roaring to life. She reasoned anyway that the bitch was gonna die, and take down the four idiots with her. She was going back to her new headquarters at the old town hall. If the girl survives she'll wanna stay clear of the city from now on.. or Sierra would make her wish she'd died with the zombies.
