In yesterday's exciting news, we discovered that our fourteen baby pigs had turned cannibal. To fix this, we moved them to a bigger pen, most of which is outside, but part of it has a little animal barn with heat lamps for when they get too cold.
In today's exciting news, I've been home alone today, doing inside stuff. When the inside dog wanted out, I opened the back door to let her out and smelled smoke. The small animal barn was pretty much all burnt up, but with a big fire still going. Me, still being in my PJs, had to run down the road to the small crew fixing a piece of sinking road (it's over a canal) and get them to help me.
The good news is, all fourteen pigs are still alive and none are burned at all that I can see.
The bad news is, that small animal barn is about $1000 and we lost all of our heat lamps and a hose. Oh, and the pigs are too small to go a night without heat lamps.
And now my throat is killing me, from being in the smoke. And running down that road made me realize how out of shape I am...
