ASN Forums Becoming Read-Only

I know this site is deader than ASN, but since most of us came from there, I figured I'd post this update for anybody who may happen to visit this site.

If you don't know, the ASN forums are going into read-only mode come February 2, 2020. You can read the news on ASN's front page for more info, but this means you'll loose access to your account, PMs, and member only boards. So, if there's anything you want to save, now is the time to do it.

Also, this made me want to share my thoughts about New Worlds. I honestly always want to leave this site up, not only so we can go back and re-visit things on occasion, but also if anyone ever wants to leave a post or the like for those who may visit later. We've all gone our separate ways, but it's nice to know we have the potential to re-connect through this site.

Maybe I'm just too sentimental, but I do think about you guys, and wonder if you're doing alright.

EDIT: So, it turns out the forums were wiped completely. It was meant to be read-only, but that didn't work out.

Howdy. Ended up in a discussion about old accounts where our cringe exists; and it brought me back here. If I'm being honest, I don't like to think about all the dumb shit I said here. How weird I was. How ignorant I was. How mean I was. How sad I was. But there's a special kind of nostalgia too.

I miss how easy it was to make friends with all of you. How effortlessly it was to write and create; even if the quality control was, well, non-existent on my part.

And I do miss you. I hope you're doing OK. I hope wherever you are you're happy. I hope you're safe. I hope you carry the friendship and creativity here with you into the rest of your life. As you can see, quality control still isn't a strong suit of mine. But either way, to Casey in particular, I appreciate that this site is still here... Even if I still try and get rid of my dumbest posts.

Yeah, I cringe when I read some of my old content. I never got involved in much drama or anything, but some of my writing was not great. My cringest stuff was on ASN, which got lost when they took down the RP section, but I still have saved copies of most of it. I love to re-read old RPs, but... the cringe is real.

I agree about the friends thing, too. It was way easier to make friends back in ASN days and when New Worlds was active. I still don't know how to make friends in real life, but I've been trying to get back into RPing again (on RP Nation). That hasn't gone well in that everything I've been in so far has died before its really gotten started, but I did find somebody to write with one-on-one for now. We don't really talk about personal things, but it's just fun to write with someone else again.

And thanks for the kind words! P.S. I think most of us were teens on ASN and some were still teens when New Worlds happened, so most of us have some cringe.
