Peace or Not (Avatar Roleplay)

It has been three years since Avatar Aang defeated Fire Lord Ozai and restored peace to the world. Slowly, but surely, the world has been rebuilding, adapting to a new era of peace. Avatar Aang and Waterbending Master Katara have traveled throughout the world, rebuilding and making peace as Fire Lord Zuko turns the Fire Nation into a new direction, one of peace and honor.

Not everyone is happy with this new direction. Dissidents, most former Fire Nation soldiers, have been secretly plotting, but about what, no one knows. Now, as Fire Lord Zuko and Fire Lady Mai prepare to marry, with important people from around the world gathering at the Fire Nation capital, this new era of peace will be put to the test.

Personality: Dry and sarcastic, Sokka, believe it or not, has matured somewhat over the years. He still has a fixation on meat and is overprotective of Katara, but his hatred for the Fire Nation has died, partly due to his fondness for the Fire Nation's tradition of "Barbecue". He is as smart as ever and still is fuzzy about the whole spiritual mumbo jumbo benders and Avatars talk about.
History: Since the War ended, Sokka has traveled around the world some, mostly around the southern part of the world, especially to Kyoshi. Sokka has kept in contact and visited all his old friends and is looking forward to seeing them again at the wedding. He is, however, depressed over a break-up with Suki. He didn't even know what he did wrong. He's trying to hide it, though.

Personality: Brave and kind, Suki has an air of authority about her from leading the Kyoshi Warriors. Suki is a good person, though, sometimes suspicious. She can be unsure about a few things, though, especially her own sexuality...
History: Since the War ended, Suki has pretty much stayed on the island of Kyoshi, training with her fellow Kyoshi Warriors and spending time with Sokka. Her hatred for the Fire Nation has cooled, thanks in no small part to Ty Lee's... unique personality. Recently, she has discovered one or two things about herself, one of them being that she prefers the company of other girls for reasons other than platonic ones. She recently broke up with Sokka and is now trying to hide this. She hopes to make sure he's okay when she's representing Kyoshi at the wedding.

Personality: The Blue Spirit doesn't speak much and when he does, he is always one to mock those around him. Oddly enough, he is charismatic, able to get people to follow him. His agenda is unknown. All that is known is that he opposes both the Avatar and the Fire Lord.
History: Almost immediately after Fire Lord Zuko was crowned, small rebellions rose up to challenge him. They were soon defeated, however, except for one. Consisting of everyone disatisfied with the new direction the Fire Nation is taking. The Blue Spirit soon rose up to join them, acquiring a high rank within the rebellion even as he pursues his own mysterious goals. His latest mission is to attend a wedding.

Personality: Upon meeting Mai, she appears to be stoic, gloomy, and uninterested in anything and for the most part, it's true. This is mostly due to her upbringing and, over the years, she has become more open, though she still remains mostly the same. She is usually in her best moods when around Zuko.
History: After the War, Mai stayed in the capital, eventually moving into the palace for convenience. She eventually reconciled with her parents, though she's annoyed when they praise her for finding "a good match" as it reminds her unpleasantly of social and political status, something that made her miserable as a child. Now that her wedding is approaching, she looks forward to spending her life with Zuko, though the first person to mention her duties of bearing an heir may get a knife thrown at them.

Personality: Toph is sarcastic and brutal, and incredibly outspoken. She is not afraid to say what she thinks, though she tends to hold back when it comes to her more vulnerable side. Rough and rowdy, Toph is still a tomboy, and she enjoys having fun. Though she may seem a jerk from time to time, she has a heart of gold, and she would do anything for her friends.
History: Toph has visited her parents from time to time, and though there is a newfound understanding between them, there will always be some confusion on both sides. Unbeknownst to Toph, Lao Bei Fong has started taking bids for a suitable husband for his daughter. Toph has traveled the Earth Kingdom, participating in any earthbending tournament that will allow her entry; she has even traveled the Fire Nation and the South Pole to visit her friends. Most of the time, though, she is alone, and she is looking forward to meeting with the others again at the wedding. She is also still nursing intimate feelings for a certain Water Tribe warrior.

History: Since the end of the war, Zuko had been busy taking care of the Fire Nation and the conflicts still left over. He had remained with Mai and friends with the others. Now he is going to get married and has invited many people.

Personality: Jet is still very charming and has gotten over his obsessive nature. He still has trouble trusting others, but he's gotten better at it. Jet is clever and good at figuring his way out of situations. He's a bit more laidback as well.
History: Jet did survive the blow below Lake Logai and with Smellerbee and Longshot returned to the woods and resumed leading the Freedom Fighters. They are still a group, but are larger and no longer being treated as rebels in the woods. In fact the EK recognized the Freedom Fighters as an offical organization. Jet had been invited to attend Zuko's wedding and decided it would be fun.

History: After the war Haru began to travel the Earth Kingdom some more. He remained friends with the Gaang as well and kept in contact with Katara and Toph mostly. He has been trying to help out the issues in the Earth Kingdom since he was given the position of general in the EK. Was invited to Zuko's and Mai's wedding, mainly through Katara.

Personality: Shizuka is a headstrong girl and will laugh at you if you try to insult her. She loves a good challenge and is competitive too. Shizuka is a graceful person and tends to think about things people usually don't. Funloving as well, she can't help but tease others.
History: Shizuka was a friend of Zuko's as a child, but since her family didn't like the idea of a monarchy, she was forbidden to see him again. She grew up learning both dancing and firebending, torn between the two. She eventually became a performer. She was surprised when Zuko contacted her as a performer for his wedding. She was upset when Zuko didn't remember her, but is looking forward to the surprise.

(Well, we might as well start this. Most of the canon characters are taken and I suppose we can start without profiles since we all know the canons taken)

Mai sighed as she looked at herself in the mirror. It was approaching evening and, tomorrow morning, she would be marrying Zuko. She blushed a little. She had been daydreaming about this since she was a little girl being tormented by Azula and treated like a doll by her parents.

Agni, her childhood sucked. Still, that was the past and she didn't dwell on it much. Personally, she didn't really see a need for a wedding. It was just a bunch of words said by a Fire Sage and the couple. Still, the Royal Family couldn't live in sin, could they. It was rather inconvenient. She was going to be cold in bed without her personal firebender to keep her warm.

Sokka stood on the prow of a Water Tribe ship, feeling bored. Why couldn't Aang give him a lift? Sure, he's not someone important, just his girlfriend's brother! Still, he was happy to be seeing his friends again, even if he had to represent his father while he was in the Fire Nation. It helped keep his mind off Suki.

He frowned. Suki. He was pretty sure he was over her, now. It had been months since they broke up. He was just bothered that he didn't know why she broke up with him. She had just suddenly started to train more with Ty Lee and the other Kyoshi Warriors for hours on end and acted defensive about it. Then, out of the blue, she broke up with him.

"Sokka, we're here," came one of the crew and the Water Tribesman grinned. They'd finally reached the docks. Now, if only he could find something to eat.

Suki stood upon an Earth Kingdom ship, trying to school her expression. It was possible she was going to meet Sokka and she had to be ready with an excuse for breaking up with him. She just couldn't tell him she liked girls! She wasn't going to let anyone know that about her. She'd take that secret to her grave.

Yes, a life of chastity devoted to honing her skills was the answer. It was the proper option, after all.

Zko paced around his room, feeling restless. He knew he had to go and greet the guests that would be arriving today, but his nerves were making him jumpy. Zuko was not about to make a fool of himself by acting so nervous.

Zuko close his eyes and tried to calm down. After a moment, he opened them and walked out of his room.

"Time to get this over with."

Jet stood at the bow of an Earth Kingdom ship, glaring at the island as it came into view. It almost appeared as if the Freedom Fighter was trying to bore a hole in the volcano with housed the Fire Nation capital.

Jet wasn't sure why he had agreed to come to Zuko's wedding. After all he was still a bit bitter about being right all that time ago about Zuko and his Uncle being Firebenders. Of course it wasn't as bad when he learned who 'Li' really was.

Now he was about to step foot into the country that had destoried his life all those years ago to attend a wedding by someone he was sure to get into a fight with.

"I can't wait," he muttered, as he steeped off the boat.

Haru was aboard the same boat as Suki and as he made his way to the front of it he saw said girl.

"Suki? Is that you?"

"Hey Shizuka you sure about this?"

The dancer looked back at Sun Li. He was getting their instruments out of the caravan. They had finally arrived at the capital, now outside the palace.

"About doing this? Hey it's money. Good money too. We should be honored that the Fire Lord wants us to perform at his wedding," the girl said through clenched teeth.

"So you're not upset that he forgot you," Yuu asked coming back from the stables.

"Nope. Not at all."

"Stressing out, already?" Mai asked in amusement as she stepped into the hallway and saw Zuko. She had thought to check up on her (dorky) fiance before they greeted their guests. She had a knowing smile on her face as she stepped in. She spoke, "You worry too much."

"Haru?" Suki gasped, surprised to see him. She knew she was going to see some familiar faces, but she didn't know that the earthbender would be invited to the wedding. She spoke, "What are you doing here?"

"I do not," Zuko said, though he knew Mai was right. "I'm just a little worried. A lot of different people are coming and I don't want anyone to think the Fire Nation is like it was before. Or weaker."

"I was invited to Zu-Fire Lord Zuko's wedding," Haru stated, a little hurt that Suki wasn't glad to see him. Or thought that he wasn't important enough to be here. "Just the same as you I believe."
